Challenge Yourself!
Hey friends!
Welcome to my first prompt.
I’m lucky that I am a photographer and can pull images from my phone camera reel that can pass as something charming to accompany my little poems.
But I also know you have a camera roll full of funny, sweet, terrible photographs that bring you joy!
From little doodles, pictures of your lunch, your pet, fun places you’ve been in the past while - there’s something great there you can make a little poem about.
As an image maker from the time I could hold a pencil, it hurts just a little to see the AI images used when everyone is writing about how AI is undermining writing and general intelligence/free thought.
It’s doing the same thing to art.
Your challenge is to be inspired by something visual you create yourself, without AI’s assistance.
All artists start out as terrible. It’s the process that matters. The effort. The discovery. Trial and error. You already know how to examine the world with a deeper perception than most.

Thanks for the interesting challenge. I'm not much of a poet, but I do enjoy taking photos. A few months ago I shot quite an interesting set in Newcastle's unfinished - probably unfinishable - concrete jungle. I had ideas to write about them for a while by never quite found a way in. This challenge opened that door for me. Hopefully it more or less matches the brief! Marie. First things first. That opening image made me laugh a bit too much and second, well done for throwing yourself into the ring with a challenge/prompt. I'm definitely going to be taking part. So can it be like anything. As long as I make it? So if I drew something ot whatnot and then took a pic, wrote about it - that'd be acceptable? If so...you're going to be in for a laugh King Paul of Vocal can't draw for shit. lol. So, prepare your best "well, done buddy. Such a champ for having a go!" platitude. :)

September 1st, oh good I am early. Just to let you know, I am jumping in. I’ve written something. I’ve got the photo and a drawing of mine. I travel frequently and capture beautiful photos along the way. This should be fun. I admit to sometimes using AI generated images to accompany my poems, mainly because it’s challenging to find photos that perfectly match the mood or theme. However, I don’t support people passing AI created images off as their own work. I do use some of my own photos when pairing them with my poems. That said, I’m completely opposed to AI generated writing.
And that is why I don't use AI to create art or music because it's doing the same thing it's doing with writing. But I have used an AI image once for one of my poems. But that was before I had this realisation. I look forward to all the entries hehehe
I will give it a shot too, we do need to support one another,
