His green eyes glistened,

in the street light.

We stayed up talking,

way past midnight.

His smile is so perfect,

it was a bit contagious.

Hes such a smooth talker,

even a bit flirtatious.

My heart was pounding,

so hard in my chest.

It took all I had to hide it,

though I did my best.

He leaned in,

as I backed against the wall.

My body felt so light,

like I could float or fall.

As our lips met,

the butterflies began.

It was in this moment,

I was thinking,

Who is this man?

He came in like a knight in shining armor,

and swept me off my feet.

From there on out,

I knew he was who I need.

Two short years,

then our hearts became one.

What started as love at first sight,

turned to happily married,

and now everything feels right.
