Love At First Sight

A Mother’s Point of View

The suspense was torturing me,

my nerves were shook.

I wondered who you’d be,

and if I had what it took.

Crying filled the air,

I felt so much relief.

You got bundled up,

and our first meeting was brief.

The lullaby played,

through the speakers on the wall.

Everyone was waiting,

you took them by awe.

It was love at first sight,

from your perfect little nose,

to your ten tiny toes.

So small and fragile,

as you lay in my arms.

It was then that I vowed,

to keep you from harm.

Your baby blue eyes glistened and gleamed.

My baby girl,

you‘re more perfect than I could’ve dreamed.

It was love at first sight,

from a mother’s point of view.

It took nine months to carry,

but a lifetime to love you!
