Even In This

A poem inspired by 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I’ve learned to say thank You
in the hush of the morning,
when light slips in like grace
through half-open blinds.

I’ve learned to say thank You
when the ache doesn’t lift,
when prayers feel unanswered
but peace still whispers in.

For the laughter and the lack,
the quiet wins and the quiet waits,
I trace gratitude like a bow
on every ordinary day.

Because You are still good
in the breaking and the bloom.
And even in this—
I give thanks.

I learned to say thank you when the ache doesn't lift. That is hard to do, but gratitude isn't just for the good days. Beautiful poem. - Nicely Done!!

  • The quiet wins and the quiet waits, I especially loved that. Such a beautiful poem!

This is a gentle, grounded reminder that gratitude isn’t just for the good days.
