Wasting Anger

The clock strikes midnight.

The dreadful sound of twelve

consecutive chimes,

reminds me that it's

days are numbered.

~

My stomach overturns and grumbles,

elaborating the needs, the wants...

These obnoxious cravings

leads my thoughts to a place

I would rather see burn, than frequent.

~

The key finds the ignition,

creating a sound that I loathe.

It's why I never drive

this appalling contraption.

Even the traffic lights are a disgrace.

How dare they advise me when to stop and go!

~

My destination is lackluster.

The menu is distant, the font, too small.

I squint and wiggle, which forces me to jiggle

the only good eye I have.

"The usual Mr. Sullen?" The wretched boy asks.

"YES! I'll have the Happy Meal with NO TOY PRIZE!

And who is this proprietor, Ronald McDonald?

He shall pay for his depraved crimes of luring me here!"
