Dream Postman

Every night he delivered dreams,

placing them softly

into the sleeping minds of villagers.

Bright dreams, heavy dreams,

each chosen with care

so no heart received more

than it could hold.

One night, he discovered an envelope

with his own name on it,

glowing faintly in his bag.

He hesitated before opening it,

fearful of what he might find

a forgotten wish,

a hidden longing,

or a truth he avoided.

Inside was a dream

he never allowed himself to believe

until that moment.
