How strange to envy a dramatic splash
To wish that I was lithe and wild like you
To imagine your tanned, ecstatic dash
And wish that I too could vanish from view

The water does not know how to betray
To mock or judge or insult anyone
It caresses each drunk or manta ray
It loves each light, from firefly to sun

You are inside it now, and it's in you
This memory will wear chlorine cologne
Archimedes could your fat splash review
Thus would your bashful volume soon be known

We can be measured by what we displace
The water bears our impact with blue grace

Paul pointed me over here, and I'm glad he did, haha! Magnificent piece/Ekphrastic!
Perfect poem for the summer, D.J. ❤️ I especially loved the line, “you are inside it now, and it’s in you”
Bringing Archimedes into this was genius! Loved your poem!
How wonderful! Such great characterization of the water and I especially liked the “chlorine cologne” line!
Great job comparing/contrasing on how the water does not judge us, in relation to how much we judge others
Oh wow. You took an already spectacular piece of art. One of my favourite series of paintings and elevated it with your stunning, eloquent words. Well done, sir! This is sublime!
