Darkness, Darkness, Light

A rescued heart

By Kelley KempPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Journeys long and journeys short

Worthless paths below me roll

Running faster I must resort

Killing some and sparing others

Confused and lost in the midst of all

Hugging the one while the other smothers

Where do I find a life well lived

Begging this life to wrap up soon

Daily mourning a heart soon shived

Darkness, Darkness upon me rolls

Burning deep within my core

My broken soul with burning coals

Embraced in black with no way out

time to give up, to let life fade

Screw this death, I begin to shout

Light breaks forth as a new dawn

Depression, sadness, loneliness abound

New life, hope and joy it does now spawn

There is another, much larger than we

Foretold, encountered, explained by some

Used, repacked and hidden in greed

Empty your mind of all your thoughts

A void of openness for what may come

Ask perfect Love what it has bought

Ask by what name you are called

New life to you will hence be wrought
