Existential

Crisis averted?

Look to the sky -- is she not

Imploding?

Paradoxically

Smiling whilst the wee ones cry:

Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?

The last line, to my mind, was uttered best (though in English) by Willem Dafoe in Scorsese's "The Last Temptation of Christ", which I only recently got to watching. Though I remain free from dogma and doctrine, this treatment of Jesus humanised the Dying God or Christ figure for me in a way that finally made it relatable. Your poem reminded me of it! Well-wrought!

  • I so was not expecting that last line. That was so sad. Loved your Acrostic!

An ancient and poignant eclipse! Good fortunes for the challenge : )

I also thought the sky turning dark after Christ was killed. Both the saddest and the most joyous time in the world's history. Grateful though. Excellently done.

Very clever! The terror of the eclipse in ancient times. The Christ quote on the cross is an effective ending! Well done!
