Courage

Poem by Belinda Baker

By Belinda BakerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

It is not always the boldest or the loudest of deeds that are courageous. It is not always thunder and lightning.Sometimes courage and strength come softly and quietly. like the soft misty rain or gentle summer breezes.

Courage can be found in the seemingly everyday, mundane and ordinary things. Often barely unnoticed or acknowledged.

It can be found in simply getting up and facing the day.

In getting dressed, getting ready and heading out the door.

When you fall down or stumble but pick yourself up again.

The voice inside that says "give it a try", when doubt rises.

Taking that first tentative step out of your comfort zone .

Pushing your self to try and to explore new things and new experiences.

Going to bed at night knowing you did the best you could .

And that if you didn't quite get there today you will try again tomorrow.

There is courage and strength in simply showing up every day for whatever that day may bring in this glorious but messy. Imperfect but beautiful life.
