Bride of the Bush
Native Australian Flannel Flowers

Springtime bride of the bush,
She arrives in delicate, downy gown.
Dreamy vision in silvery white:
Rebirthed more beautiful
From the harsh fires of seasons past.
Sea of Stars, honey-sweet and lovely,
She silently sways
To the lilting forest melody.
Soft and gentle, humbly nodding,
Accepting her place on the rocky coast.
Kissed lovingly by sea breezes,
Protected beneath a strong Eucalypt canopy,
She radiates peacefulness,
Contentment
And hope.
Expectant that this season,
Is her season
To blossom,
To thrive
To grow.
Inspired by the Native Australian Flannel Flowers growing along our stunning NSW coast. Inspite of bushfires that often ravage Australian bushland, the Flannel Flower is known to blossom in greater abundance following fire seasons.
Today my husband and I meandered through bushland wildflowers, celebrating our 20 years of marriage. To my husband, I love you and living life with you. Thank you for helping me blossom, thrive and grow.
