Let's break the rules...let's break em' good.
I'm sick of following fools, doing what they say I should.
*
What's it to you? Why do you care?
You sit there on your self-made pedestal,
throwing stones from your armchair.
*
You think you know, you don't have a clue,
not everyone does what they do,
to please the likes of you...
**
They say - if you're gonna do something,
then baby, do it right.
Break the rules beautifully and deliberately, and for god's sake, with all your might.
*
Otherwise, you should just stay home, keepin' up the status quo.
You may change the way you're living or the outcome,
yeah, who knows?
*
All I know, is that tomorrow, should be better than today.
Repeating what you're doing,
doesn't change a god damned thing.
*
So, stand out, up on the roof-tops,
shout out the song you sing.
Show them exactly who you are,
and the game that you can bring.
**
Change your life or don't, I can't change your thing for you.
I'm just saying that I've tried to live my life for others, that's all through.
It's time I took the power back and changed a thing or two,
if taking care of others means, you got no time for you.
**
So, let's break the rules,
let's break em' good.
Come on and make a choice.
Get to livin' a life worth livin',
otherwise, it's only noise.

I sang this as a song in my head
Whoaaa, way to make our blood rush! So inspirational!
As a man of the cloth, I say, "Preach it, sister!" Most of the rules that confine & restrict (rather than keep safe) or forbid were made by folks who didn't know any better, including those that are held up as religious &/or divinely inspired. Break out from Romans 1 & read Romans 2 for a change (where Paul makes his point in the pericope).
Great, Kelli! Change never comes without breaking the rules. Well done. 👍Pernoste
