By Natasja RosePublished 4 months ago 1 min read

In Mackenzie’s tomb

A man in darkness, lifts light

Crowded by corpses

Inspired by the tomb of George “Bloody” Mackenzie, who designed history first Concentration Camp, the Covenents Pridon in Greyfriars, Edinburgh.

Becoming a figure of folk horror, in 1999, a homeless man took shelter in the tomb, fell through the floor, and discovered that the tomb had been built over a pit of plague corpses when he lit a lighter to see where he was.
