A shroud of darkness, velvet deep,

Envelops the world in silent sleep.

Stars, like diamonds, twinkle bright,

Piercing the veil of endless night.

The moon, a pale, ethereal sphere,

Casts a ghostly glow, cold and drear.

Shadows dance and creep and hide,

As fear and mystery abide.

A chilling wind whispers through the trees,

Carrying tales of ancient mysteries.

The world stands still, in hushed repose,

As twilight's curtain slowly closes.
