BLACK AND WHITE

SWEET BUT BITTER ENDING

By ESTHER NDUTAPublished 3 years ago 2 min read
ACTIONS HAVE CONCEQUENCES

It hurts my heart to see people cheering me

It breaks me down to hear you praising me,

A time has come where all things will be put to light,

You know me as a humble hardworking being,

Contrary to what my inside behaves at night,

No more hiding! Know me by my true colors,

Camouflaging to a sweeter look at day time

And to another when it's dark.

A time to call white white and black black is here.

We talk and hear others talk of forged documents,

Who could ever tell I did all these things,

Who knew I never relied on my brain to attain them?

Using my body to acquire the marks was the trend

I call white white and black black.

Abortion is absurd to most of you,

But it's a life style to me.

Ask me how many I have flashed,

All in the name of maintaining a super body figure

Ask me the number of sponsors I have

Driving is not a problem coz I will just name the price.

Call it white and black black.

No more hiding,

AIDS is in my veins and I have infected a number.

Not to mention names coz it's a fact.

Marriages have broken and to hell,

It's none of my business.

You fail to keep your man I keep him for you, period!

It's never a big deal to drink and sleep outside.

A time to know me is here,

Calling white white and black black.

Three years in marriage no kid and there are no signs

My in-laws are questioning me,

How will I tell them?, I ask

Knowing well I wasted my womb, I am no longer me.

It's just an empty vessel walking and swaying absent hips

Tears will never dry in my eyes, neither will my heart be healed.

Regrets are here with me and I can't reverse.

I call it white and black black.

Finally am just waiting to die and get forgotten

Am a walking smart dead lady without a future.

Do not follow my footpath but make your lives better

With accordance to the word of God live well.

Listen to your parents and elders keenly.

They will never mislead you

Call white white and black black

heartbreak
