BLACK & BLUE
An outer perspective, written by Elena Taghipour

The cops outside arrested me.
I hate the way they question me
I haven’t done a single crime, maybe I
stole so casually.
Officer talks up to me,
I get to talkin recklessly,
His anger chargin up, he thinkin,
‘Whys a negro testin me?’
The officer so ‘friendily,’
Had charged me with a felony,
Resisting my arrest sends bullets shot at
to the left of me.
My heart beats uncontrollably,
Desperate to see my family,
See my daughters eyes, she screamin,
‘Let go of my daddy, please!’
My heart is dropping now,
Hate to see my daughter frown,
She only got the world n me, baby
deserves a crown.
My eyes start looking down,
Pool of blood got me surround,
Call out to God, ‘Jesus PLEASE,’ can’t
leave my daughter now;
The officer aint hesitate,
To let those bullets penetrate;
Kid on her lonesome now,
What’s that supposed to demonstrate?
Officer, take a bow,
Celebration must be now,
For the outstanding performance of an,
ignorant vile.
You nasty boys in blue,
Make me feel sicker than the flu,
Shot me in cold blood,
And boutta get my brothers too.
You crooked boys in blue,
Second degree will not catch you,
Justice, it may be lost for me,
They fake the statements too.
I prayed for all my sins,
Hoping heaven will let me in,
To meet my baby afterlife,
Whose life, the cops ruined.
They want to see us weak
They bask in our defeat,
But little do they know,
We’ll never compromise retreat.
One last thing, boys in blue,
A small message for you,
Keep your pigs out of our tracks,
We won’t come after you.
‘What is that officer?’
I’m not the first father,
To lose my f***ing life,
At the supremacists suffice?
I swear to you, my truth,
She won’t forget or lose
My daughter, never stepping back,
Till that cop black and blue.
END.
