Baby Bird's First Flight

A sweet summer day watching a bird take its first flight.

For months we sat and watched upon this tree

Songs of bulbuls as they moved in to nest

Flowers in bloom and leaves of pure silky green

Constantly humming with no time to rest

A world we created out of neglect

It only felt right we sit in a cage

Nature’s time to run wild, ours to respect

Watch, smell, listen as monsoon launched its rage

The baby bird emerged onto the branch

Chirping and crying it spread out it’s wings

Tears in our eyes as we watched it advance

But a stumble and fall is what life brings

Starting not with ease, instead with a fight

It filled us with hope for tomorrow’s light
