Apparitions float through my mind
memories of you
your smile, your laugh, your eyes
miraculous traits now forever lost.
In my dream you come
haunt me every night
a sweet rendition of our past life
hides in plain sight.
I can taste the freedom I felt with you
though only for awhile
remembering the things we once did
that always made me smile.
Oh how I wish the Breath of Life
didn't waist its air on me
instead it bless you with its gift
only then I would be happy.
But alas happiness eluded me
an I sit in toil and pain
wishes wasted on the stars
haunted by your name.
