An Open Letter to The Universe

I put a spell on you

By Sema’Jay HallPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Universe,

You pleasure me with life and leave me empty.

You tease me

You play me like a violin; sad songs and ballads I crave so much.

Is it all a lesson? Is it all temporarily a joke... for the later lights of life to laugh at with the red moon on this fall day.

I've seen it, many times. I've felt it, locked up in my mind.

I'm waiting and maybe my waiting will keep me waiting until I no longer need waiting.

Give me what they have and let me show you how I won't make them feel what I feel. I know, it'll seem hard and maybe impossible for other reasons, but I know I can do it. I know because I've seen it in people. People who are the worst. Yet people who are the best. That compassion and unity. Different between most gardens but the best in love’s garden.

I’ll wait eagerly and patiently to relate even if it seems faint.

I’ll remember to leave an open solar system of time.
