An Entirely Inappropriate Shade of Pink

I was wearing an entirely inappropriate shade of pink, they teased on their way out.

I was ugly, and weird shaped, is what I heard as I was shoved further down into the dark.

I was pointless and no good, were the whispers as another day passed.

I wasn’t very bright and didn’t leave much of an impression, is what the popular ones told me.

I wasn’t the favourite anymore, and only little kids would think I was cool, as they gave voice to my inner concerns.

It’s not easy, being a chewed up old pencil, at the bottom of the pencil case.

    Oh, that had me feeling sad, but at the same time wondering where it was going. Great reveal... loved the personification of the objects. You did it really well!
