Amphitrite

Poetry

By Z. VishnyakovaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I see you on the break wall

dancing on tiptoe

barefoot on rebar exposed sandstone

sillhoutte in the dusk light

swaying in accord

with low tides and Amphitrite

a mutual agreement with the space between

you and sea, I

see me in your shadow

honey I love to call you mine

This poem was inspired by the photo you see above. Taken in a quaint, lake Michigan-side town built into the natural slope of the land in Wisconsin. I remember spending quite a few hours on that wall, taking in the fresh breeze, and meditating in the mist that hit my legs from the waves. I never realized that moment and that photo would worm its way into my writing. Thanks for your indulgence.
