Surround every emotion with guard rails.
Bond with him on your mutual interests, yet engage in them independently.
Live in the feeling of flight instead of fight.
Learn when and how to be hot, but more importantly, learn when and how to be cold.
Soften slowly.
Harden quickly.
Show him unrivaled passion with your lips.
Want the same thing, but live in different zip codes.
Bite your tongue on everything you wish to say.
Measure the length of your arm. Keep him there.
Tell him he’s on your mind, then disappear for weeks.
Say it’s just you being esoteric.
