Growing pains
From breaking up to healing and back again
You said we couldn’t have a forever, but we do.
You said you couldn’t play a part in my future but that wasn’t true.
I had to pivot, to understand the meaning,
To savour that happiness and to honour the grieving.
You’re still some of my tears. Some of my smiles and intense feeling,
You will always be a part of me, my ongoing healing.
