All of a sudden, it's someone new

the person I want to tell the second I have good news,

the person I want to vent to when the anger settles in, when I want to throw my laptop across the room,

the person I want to hear telling me it's going to be okay,

and all of a sudden, I am writing to the ether,

writing my thank you's to the universe, writing to someone who will never read my words in a different way than I was before

it's funny how quickly everything changes, and I find myself

thinking about what comes next

love poems

    Good

  • This is brilliant. The exact words, with the same point of view, are read from top to bottom and bottom to top, and they are well done.

Careful. Throwing your laptop in an inverse poem will see it sailing right back at you, read the other way. Well done.

Wow - this is so incredibly done. Both readings are meticulously crafted and hold so much weight; the reverse reading feels so hopeful. Beautifully done. πŸ’— Congratulations on Top Story!

No, don' t throw your laptop. This is wonderful. Congrats on the TS.

  • This was an exemplary example of a well written inverse. I am such a dolt. My first inverse was word by word rather than sentence by sentence. I have thrown a few things in my day, but not my laptop as it holds all my writing.

  • Evocative & thought-provoking either way I read it. It is intriguing when I notice that look in the other person's face as they patiently indulge me in whatever it is I'm sharing that says, "Okay, so...? When may I go back to what I was doing without dismissing or offending you?" The thing about relationships is that they're not reciprocal. They're connected. Frequently we're not on the same wavelength. But there is grace, respect, tolerance, appreciation & love.
