All About Them Symbols

It’s all about them symbols, ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

and how we perceive it all to be. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

Like how a white dove symbolizes:⠀⠀

peace, innocence, and prosperity.⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀

It’s all about a world,⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

that sees beauty in a white swan, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

and one that sets off “day,” ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

with the break of dawn.⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀

And what a shame it is, ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

to live where light outweighs the darkness,⠀⠀⠀⠀

where a “Perfect Christmas” is a white one,

and where stars are masked by city lights. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

It’s time to change them symbols, ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀

it’s time to set things right. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀

Starting with the Blackbirds, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

who’ve been waiting for too long, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

it’s time for all the Blackbirds’ lives to matter, ⠀⠀

before we can move on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀

It’s time to make sure change, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

stays with us for good, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

it’s time to see white swans and doves, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

beyond our childhood. ⠀⠀⠀⠀

⠀⠀⠀

It’s time to understand, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

that white snow is also cold,⠀⠀⠀⠀

it’s time to change them symbols, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

so that no other daddy, ⠀⠀⠀⠀

has to change the world.⠀⠀⠀
