She used to climb them trees for fun, but now climbing them reminds her of a time you called her your “little monkey.”

It was a silly gesture, but one that perfectly summarized what you’d both felt.

“You’re my little monkey” you’d say, to which she’d reply, “Your one and only, only yours.” And in an instant, your hearts would glow together bright.

And you’d feel stupid about it, even though it was probably the most incredible sensation the two of you had ever felt.

So today… When she’s no longer little, and sadly, no longer yours, she still climbs.

Because when she climbs and reaches apex, her heart glows again for a moment. And even now, there’s no better sensation.

But here’s something you don’t know: each time she leans on a trunk or a branch, with her heart glowing brighter than the sun, she hopes for one thing.

She hopes that at that moment — even if just for a split second — Your heart is glowing too.
