A view of the world from a mother’s point of view
How I see my place in this world
In a world where everyone is normal there are those of us that are disabled or in even handicapped in some people eyes. This world looks down on those of us who are different and judges us with a harshness that is undeserved.
I sometimes feel that my life is under a microscope of the quote unquote normal people in this world. Are those of us who are disabled not human too? Do we not deserve the same rights as everyone else? I was in special education and it didn’t teach me what I needed to learn instead I was using old books from the 40’s to the 70’s. in spite of this handicap of learning, I was able to graduate high school with a 3.7 GPA., and attend junior college. I met a wonderful man, we have been happily married nineteen years and have two wonderful sons. This world may have given me lemons, but I have made lemonade, and it is quite tasty!

"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window." This was the first thought that popped in your head as you passed the old cabin nestled in the woods. You have passed it many times over the years, always dark and cold as you passed it on your many hikes through the forest, what makes this night different and why is there a candle burning? “what’s wrong Arthur?” Sadie asks as you near the old building. “You act as if you’ve seen a ghost”. You and Sadie have been dating for several years and have fallen deeply in love with each other, but this is the first time you have ever brought her on one of your private walks through the forest since you first met, is it some strange coincidence that the candle burns now?
