A Two Faced Friend

I a trusted friend

A Two Faced Friend

You smiled at me with borrowed light

spoke soft as though the world was kind

yet in the shadows where whispers bend

I saw the truth you tried to send

Your hand was warm but never true

your eyes betrayed the mask they drew

a friend in name, in heart a lie

words that fooled me, then passed me by

I gave you trust, you fed on that

like poison hidden in a chat

and every secret that I gave

was never safe, just yours to trade

Now I walk on, your face behind

a ghost that lingers in my mind

for broken bonds will never mend

once cut in half by a two faced friend.

You’ve really captured the sting of betrayal and how it lingers long after the friendship is gone.
