A terrible prognostication.

Ranks to form, forward march!

Board to set, field so parch,

Destitute and barely green,

Horrid sight, surely seen,

Flash of light, flash of steel,

Fire bursts, rebounded wheel,

Cannons loosed, balls in bound,

Burst of dust, impact upon the ground,

Scent of smoke, sword to thrash,

What once then thrived now burned to ash,

Sound of the gallop, ignited flame,

Push and wrestle, cast the shame!

Shouts aloud, battle cry,

Those to endure, and those doomed to die,

Battle tested, battle tried,

Blood to shed, tears then cried,

Painted picture, of what’s in store,

The horrid cost to wage war.
