A sacred moment
Across the room

A calm warmth blossomed from my hand holding a cold prosecco.
Radiating to my brain, rendering it useless and then spilling to my chest.
I held it there until the sweet but unfathomable pain started pulsing.
Letting my breath out in a controlled way, finally I looked in your eyes. I think they were beautiful but I couldn't see straight.
Swimming towards you, drinking to occupy myself I could feel a different warmth.
It crackled and danced on my skin as you drew near, pulling oxygen from the room.
When I finally saw your smile, I heard it; a thump, a release.
My heart. There you are.
