A Frustrated Relationship Piece

A Poem about a Relationship: The Heartache, the Torment, the Growing Apart, and the Turmoil That Comes with It

By Evie ZaoraPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

It's interesting how our response is to cling on more tightly when we should be letting go.

Sometimes we feel that what we have is all that's left, you know?

The desire to love and be loved seems to only grow stronger and stronger.

Even when at times the situation couldn't be more wronger.

We are lost for our feelings run deep and our emotions still raw.

Change is an obstacle one we cannot forestall.

And yet we yearn that the other one can see us in a loving light a few times more.

Perhaps as they once did before.

We try to look for reasons, to figure out why!!!

Our frustration with each other we cannot hide any longer.

But once a connection is lost we cannot deny: things will never be the same, and love is a painful game.

At night I call out your name, instead of comfort I feel shame because you use my name in vain.

You've caused so much hurt and pain.

How can I ever be the same?

After all I've done for you you still see our relationship as some sick game.

To you I'm an option, there's no excuse for that, I'd rather not be your concoction.

I try to show you no reaction, I know you yearn for that satisfaction.

Yet a few times I can't keep it in anymore and all the frustration spills out like before.

You're cruel, you're mean, you think of only yourself.

I've given you too much of myself!

And I'm sick of you now...

You can't think for yourself,

You don't know what you want,

You don't know who you are...
