National Chocolate Day is January 27. Beware of the treachery of false-hearted bakers.
There are many cake flavors, but chocolate stands out; it rises to the top.
Rich espresso-brown chocolate cake is moist and tender, with crumbs that cling to your lips and melt in your mouth.
Dark, silky buttercream lines its layers, frosting so sweet it makes your tongue pause in wonder. Your taste buds tingle and dance in the middle of this dark decadence. You want more, and with every bite, there is more to enjoy. Go ahead, don't worry about the calendar or dates. Any day is okay.

Whisk your cocoa and flour, add the eggs and pure vanilla with the finest oil. Level the rounds once baked, and share baking joy from your hands to the rounds, as you spread the buttercream in fancy swirls.
Baking is an art, and January 27 is your day to shine and share your exquisite chocolate cake.

Upon the North, where winter holds its sway, The frigid nights descend with solemn grace, A silent, diamond dust along the way, And moonbeams carve the shadows of the place.
