A Challenge From Write Under The Moon
Spiritual awakening posted on medium.com
I had heard of a “Spiritual awakening” but didn’t expect to have one
It wasn’t just one for me, but many
I haven’t ever thought of writing them until this prompt
I thought a different prompt might be fun
Writing Rupi Kaur’s and Jen Sincero’s prompts, not like I don’t have any
I am busy right now, and pretty swamped.
~
Struggling with sobriety when someone suggested asking for help
It was someone who believed in self-help
She said to ask to have the obsession and compulsion removed
For me, that worked. She was so right. It proved
to be true for me. No more drinking thinking
No more drinking
~
I wasn’t close to God or the Creator
I said, “Me, I’m an agnostic.
I want proof.”
If there is someone greater
How about a prognostic
Okay, I know I’m a goof.
~
Next, I was asking for a burning bush
Prove this to me I thought
For four days everywhere I went
People talked about cush
Good fortune, what they bought
Good luck, and what they were sent.
~
I overheard people talking about
how they found a 4 leaf clover
and then I saw a rainbow
We were riding in the car and no doubt
the end of the rainbow was right over
us and we were the fortune and had clout.
~
When my mom died, she told me
Pray for your siblings, I’m with God
I needed to hear that
She said the nickname only she
called me, and it wasn’t odd
at all. I was happy to have that chat!
~
A year later my sister died and she told me one morning
Time is different here, I can visit family
and friends, heaven, the ever-lasting happy place
and I can visit Valhalla, she told me without warning.
Where is Valhalla? A hall for warriors I was told happily.
It put my mind to rest. I was looking forward to that space.
~
I have had many more, but this is enough for now
I will take a bow
enough for today
maybe more another day!

This was veryyyyy interesting Denise!
Good work. This would be a good confession story too. I believe in heaven and that I will see all my family up there again some day, but I always have this feeling that when I die that I will be wandering around down here trying to help others somehow and most of that will be at my old school for some reason.
"No more drinking thinking..." Niiiiiiice! *Poetic Finger Snaps*
Spirit of your sister visited you. Yes I have had such experiences
This was a really great read 🙏🏻💎 I could write books on this prompt of the experience I have had… the spiritual life has become so normal that it’s hard to recall any other (and there for not so interesting for Mme to write- or so I thought until now 😅 I forget many people do not have their senses open like this and probably would find it interesting! )
Love your family story!!! Superbly written!!!💕❤️❤️
