Perhaps not everyone knows that the color of the coat determines the personality of the cat . There are cats of many colors and shades and also very different characters , they are characteristic shades that only the owners can recognize because apparently they can all look the same.

The correlation between coat color and character has been recognized by behaviorists, veterinarians, and lovers. A careful examination of feline genetics confirmed this.

Cats, as is well known, have many different colors but there are only two types of pigments: eumelanistic, black, and phaeomelanistic, red . A male cat can have only one type of pigment, while a female can have both (tortoiseshell or tortoise). This is because the pigment gene is located on the X chromosome. Therefore, heredity is related to sex. A male has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome and therefore can only have the allele ( alternate forms of the same gene ) for the black pigment or the allele for the red pigment. Women, on the other hand, have two X chromosomes and therefore can have both alleles.for black and for red. No allele dominates the others, so the cat will be black and red: turtle. Of course, a female can have an allele for black on both X chromosomes. Therefore, she will be black. You can also have the alleles of the red pigment on both chromosomes and then it will be red.

Today's domestic cats are descended from African wild cats, which were domesticated 10,000 years ago. The tabby cat is so called because its name derives from the French term taffeta and indicates that beautiful silk fabric that, as it moves, creates games of light that seem "waves." They have an M feature on the forehead. We commonly call them brindle.

These cats are usually quite solitary and have a tendency to play aggressively. They love to hunt their prey, so it is difficult to keep them locked in an apartment.

They enjoy hunting their prey outdoors and because of this it can be very difficult to keep a gray cat indoors.

These cats can be very resourceful and intelligent. They are very active and great mouse hunters . However, they are not usually very affectionate compared to other cats of other colors.

They are sociable with other cats and also with people, but they do not get attached.

This color is quite rare due to the fact that it is a genetic trait that is passed from the mother cat to the kittens. Chocolate brown cats are intelligent, playful and very friendly, to attract the attention of the owner they meow a lot and clap with their paws.

White cats

Most white cats have a very high risk of congenital deafness and most of them are sometimes born deaf. This is due to a degenerative change in the cochlea within the ear. Deafness is more common in the white cats than in yellow eyes blue eyes but there are yellow - eyed white cats that are deaf and blue - eyed white cats normally listen to us. Cats can also be deaf in one ear. Cats with matchless eyes are often deaf and have the ear located on the same side as the blue eye.

They may also have vision and skin disorders. Because of this, white cats are usually quite shy and always follow their owner. However, not all white cats are deaf!

Black cats

Black cats have genetic traits similar to black and gray cats; therefore, the personality is also similar. Black cats are most closely related to their wild ancestors and it is believed that black cats were observed in the wild before becoming house cats. All the other colors and varieties that exist arose later, as their mutations.

So these cats have a reputation for having a wild and unpredictable side. They can be stubborn and welcoming at the same time, and while they are fairly independent creatures, they also love the company of people and other cats and pets. Be careful though, they have a tendency to roam and can go miles in a short amount of time. Therefore, if you plan to bring a black cat, you must also identify it with a collar with your phone number in case it gets lost.

These colorful cats can be very stubborn and pretend to dominate. But they can also be loving, often choosing to a particular family member. The owners of these cats often describe them as true puppies and faithful companions.

Stuttered cats are generally female , so their personalities are slightly more tame than their male counterparts.

A male may not have the color of a tortoise shell, as he only has one X chromosome. However, a male tortoise sometimes appears in a litter. How can it be? Do you have two X chromosomes? In fact, this is precisely the explanation for this phenomenon. Some males have a mistake with their chromosomes, they have two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome at the same time. Either the mother produced an egg with two X chromosomes, or the father produced a sperm with its X and Y chromosomes. The same phenomenon also occurs in many other animal species and also in humans. This situation is called Klinefelter syndrome. This chromosomal aberration leads to infertility: when a male tortoise is not sterile, then his coloration is due to other causes.

They are very curious, sweet and playful.

Red cats

Red cats are usually male (only 1 in 5 cats are female). They are cats that love to prevail, they are aggressive and predatory by nature , the red females are much calmer and more tender than the males.

Cream colored cats

Cats with light, very fuzzy fur carry the same gene, called the dilution gene.

The dilution gene causes a change that lightens the color. This happens because the pigment granules form agglomerates. To the eye, the fur appears lighter, in the same way that a mixture of black and white grains from the sand appear gray. The dilution allele is recessive. Makes a cat black, blue and a cat red, cream. A brown tabby turns into a blue tabby.

They have personality traits that are associated with the red, black or chocolate colored cat, as well as the hair they also have a diluted and therefore unique personality.

These cats are playful and due to their curious nature they can often annoy their owners and other pets by their frantic running from one side of the house to the other, as if they are chasing some invisible object.
