September 2019 I finally convinced my boyfriend to get a puppy, we had both decided we wanted a family oriented breed and what better one than a golden retriever right? We reached out to many different breeders, some far and some close to where we were living. We settled on one that was 30 minutes from where we lived and we scooped the last spot for a litter that was due in October 2019. I was so excited I was finally going to get my golden boy, Little did I know at this time how much love I would grow to have for a 4 legged fur baby that I was yet to meet. October 19, 2019 I recieved the email stating the puppies had been born ! His brave fur mama had delivered 11 healthy pups, 9 were male and 2 were female. I remember the excitment I felt when I opened the email to see the tiny little golden potato looking pups all bundled up together, so fresh and so pure. As time went on we recieved weekly updates on how the pups were doing and to show the progress of them growing leading up to the weeks before we were able to finally meet them. We had pick of the litter due to my boyfriend working out of town and ill never forget the flood of emotions that I felt walking into the room to see 11 adorable little puppies all propped up on the side of their boarded up area so excited to be loved. It was a stressful yet such an amazing 30 minutes to pick out our boy who would be coming home with us in 2 short weeks. We settled on the brown ribboned puppy as he had white tips on his paws and a white patch on his chest which none of the other puppies had, we named him Archie. The anticipation to bring our boy home set in that day and I could not wait to get to hold him again and bring him home with us forever, Archie was the perfect name for him it suited him and we had never met another dog named Archie before. December 12, 2019 We finally got to go pick our baby up, I snuggled him and kissed him the whole way home and in that moment I knew he would be a sweet mamas boy.

Archie was an amazing puppy, he had 1 accident in our house and never had any bad habits that we had to work on breaking. He loved the snow and never wanted to come inside, he was playful, quiet and definitly loved his cuddles. I felt like I had won the jackpot with him, he would be my best friend forever, he gave me purpose, he healed me in so many ways. We brought him everywhere with us, it was like we were new parents and were so excited to show everyone our new family member. Not one person didnt instantly love him and his character. A dog truly is the best friend you could ever ask for, the constant loyalty, the trust, the endless love they give is like no other. They love you no matter what, they dont judge and they depend on you to keep them alive. Fast forward to now Archie will be 2 next month and I dont even know where the time has gone, My sweet boy went from a tiny little pup to a 70 pound fluffy man of love. He is and will forever be irreplaceable I dont remember life without him and I never want to get to where he is not longer around.

My goofy boy has held me up through some of the toughest of times in my life with his warm cuddles and sweet sloppy kisses. He is genuinly happy just to be laying beside me on the couch or off on a simple car ride to the store. I make sure he has the best day every day because he deserves nothing less during his short time here. He loves to swim, he loves to play fetch, he loves car rides and simple walks around the block. I have met my soul mate in animal form and I am forever grateful with how it all fell into place. He has the most infectious smile that can light up any grey day.
