Brain Training Your Dog

Dogs that are anxious or stressed may engage in destructive behaviors, such as chewing on furniture or digging holes in the yard. By providing your dog with mental stimulation, you can help to alleviate these behaviors and provide a healthy outlet for their energy.

29-31March/2-4April 2023
29 March 2023 Today started out as usual, off and on cloudy and sunny. The sky in the distance looked very dark. we got Mistress up, she dresses herself then us, locked the front door and off we went. Up to the grassy area for ball play and business matters, but I got to dig as well, in a new spot, different from the others I'd done. I love to dig, but I don't know why she's allowing me to do it here, oh well, I will enjoy it anyway. We did a short block walk to trim our nails on the pavement, , moving aside for those coming toward us on the pavement, whether they are with a shopping trolley, stroller or mobility scooters. Then we went around to the park and the barkour boulders as we now call them. There are a couple that are unsteady and Mistress had us stand on them for a while, to improve our balance, or so she says. We weren't pleased that she was out of treats, so we weren't really enthusiastic about doing as she asked. She did promise us some when we got home, which she did make good on. Anti allergy paste given, dental treats and breakfast served, now to snooze while she works. Laters! xx

6-7 April 2023
6 April 2023 Today started bright and sunny but a little chilly. Mistress got up, got dressed, ordered our anti-flea tablets online, got us harnessed and out the door, locking it behind us. We power walked towards downtown and a brindle coloured bull terrier came around the corner and spooked us, making me bark and making Mistress jump and block my view. I don't like those types of dogs at the best of times. I calmed down, then Thistle, Mistress and I walked on. We stopped briefly at a grassy area to do our business, which Mistress of course quickly picked up. Then we walked on to town, the now normal route. Very few shops were open at that time of the morning, but people were starting to head into town. Of course, as usual, Thistle and I moved to the side to let people pass by easily. Mistress said she hopes our next house will be near a lake so I can go swimming, I'd like that, I miss swimming. I love open water and am not fond of baths. Thistle on the other hand loves baths and hates open water. We headed home, passing by the big park and the boulders. Mistress mentioned they mowed part of the grass and wondered why they didn't do the rest. Once home, treats given, breakfasts hand fed, water lapped up, we snoozed most of the day while Mistress read aloud and recorded it. We shall see what tomorrow brings. Laters! Xx
