It's been said that people that hate cats will come back as mice in their next life.
The Cats Taking Over Istanbul
When I visited Istanbul this summer I found everything I was expecting: good food, scenic views, and plenty of history. What I wasn’t expecting, however, was how it seemed that stray cats had monopolized the city; and everyone was okay with that. The cat empire ruled.

Becoming a Cat dad
All my life, I have been a dog person. My family always had little dogs. Maybe that was the Hispanic in us since we were all short people. Dogs are the perfect companion. They cuddle with you, they like to play, and they could be silly. They sense when things are off with us. I always told my wife that we get a dog whenever we get married. That was non-negotiable. We haven’t gotten a dog yet; that is because something has changed.

How To Choose Your Adventure Kitty
If you read my first blog post, you know that my journey from a Georgia stray to a well-traveled adventure cat was not an easy one. My previous owners tossed me out into the winter cold to fend for myself. But, this act of cruelty connected me with the missus I now have who takes me with her on her travels.

Pavlov's Cats
Our house contains two humans and two black cats. Our cats mostly do not go outside because we live in an area where it is not safe for them to roam freely. We do have a small patio area that is enclosed by four high walls from which they can't escape, so they go out there to explore.

Return of the Night Owl
It was a truly a "dark and stormy night" when the tabby cat showed up. A neighbor had knocked on my door, asking if I knew who it belonged to. I had never seen it before. As we stood in the driveway, the poor, wet creature kept lifting its paws one by one, trying to protect them from the freezing rain. After chatting for a bit, the neighbor left the cat and me to fend for ourselves.

It was a sad day when Kelo went away
My new fur baby I moved to a different house on October 4, 2021, and immediately noticed that it was a cat neighborhood. I saw a black cat, an orange Tabby, and a huge gray, white, and black cat who looked like he had been inside a dryer and my grandchildren named him Fluffy. There was also a light gray kitty and my oldest son said he saw a gold cat roaming the neighborhood. The one who captured my heart was a big gray and white male cat with gold eyes who would be in front of the house of my neighbor two doors down.

Black Cat
Black Cat Oh, how you have been slandered, battered, and bruised. They hate you and cause you such abuse. They fear the unknown, so they run and hide from the truth. Beautiful, magical, and mythical you rein. Blessings from you are Goddess Ordained. You are one with the darkness, and you know great pain. All of your wisdom won't go in vain.

A Cat Named Annabel Lee
I'm not sure why I named my cat after Edgar Allan Poe's Annabel Lee. I think maybe the tone and rhythm attracted me. If you aren't familiar with the works of Edgar Allen Poe, Annabel Lee is a lyric poem about Poe's deceased wife, or at least that's what many people think. That's as far as any similarities go between my Annabelle Lee and Poe's.

Zoe, a/k/a Sadie The Goat
Zoe is a sweet black and white tuxedo cat with extra toes referred to as a polydactyl cat. She has mitten paws. I love her feet and find them fascinating. When I turn one of her front paws over and look at it upside down, it reminds me of a pitcher's mitt.
