Are you in the market for an adorable, fluffy puppy that will be your new best friend? Puppies are a joy to have around, but they can also be a lot of work. This is especially true if you’re not used to having a puppy around. But if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, you can get through all the sticky spots with your Puppy Training and turn it into an angel. Puppies tend to be full of energy and curiosity, which often results in doing things we don't want them to do.

Puppy Training Tips

1. Understand Puppies Suck

Puppies chew things because they like the taste, it helps them explore their world, it's a habit, and it keeps teeth clean. You need to make sure your stuff is not within reach or invest in some puppy-proofing items.

2. Consistency is Key

Puppies love routine and love consistency. If you want your puppy to learn to do something, be consistent when teaching them. Use the same command every time so your dog can associate the command with whatever behavior you want them to repeat. If you have consistency, your puppy will learn quickly.

3. Don't Get Angry

Don't let your puppy run all over you, and this will only encourage bad habits like biting. It's up to you as the pack leader to show him how things are done in your house and when it comes to hard work and discipline, you'll reap the rewards of a well-behaved (and loved) puppy.

4. Feeding Table Scraps

Puppies don't know what's good for them and what isn't – just like any dog, they might eat something toxic that could make them sick or worse, kill them, so never feed your puppy anything other than his regular food, including table scraps or leftovers from your dinner table.

5. Don't Be Afraid to Say 'No.'

When you give your puppy a command, you must be prepared to enforce it. If he doesn't listen, say "no" firmly and put him in his crate for a few minutes. This teaches him that not listening has consequences and that listening gets him what he wants (if this doesn't work, try squirting him with water from a spray bottle).

6. Practice Patience

When training dogs, it is essential to be patient. If you push your pet too hard too fast, he may give up on the training entirely. Start by taking it slow and progressing as your puppy adjusts to the lessons being taught. If you feel frustrated with the progress being made, take a break for a few minutes and return to the lesson later with a positive attitude.

7. Play with your puppy

This is the most important tip for any puppy owner. You need to play with your puppy as it will make him/her happy and also it will help you to understand the needs of the puppy. If you don’t play with your puppy, then it will be hard for you to control your puppy.

8. Make sure that your puppy is safe

You must keep your puppy in a safe place. It’s not necessary that all puppies are dangerous, but it is not safe to keep your puppy in your room or in the kitchen. So, you need to keep him/her in a separate room.

9. Feed your puppy on time

If you feed your puppy on time then he/she will eat more and become healthier. But if you feed your puppy on time then he/she will become energetic and active.

10. Be strict with your puppy

You must be strict with your puppy as it will help you to train your puppy in a better way. You can use some correction methods like spanking or using a whip to correct your puppy. You should never hit your puppy as it will make your puppy scared and it will also affect his/her personality.

11. Set some rules for your puppy

You need to set some rules for your puppy as it will help you to understand the needs of your puppy. You can set some rules for your puppy such as don’t jump, don’t chew anything, don’t bark etc.

Conclusion

As touched on previously, the best time to teach your dog the basics is when he’s a puppy. It’s also vital that you set these rules in place as soon as you have them. Start small, be consistent, and have lots of treats on hand to reward your puppy during training. Keep these training aids on hand, so you can quickly correct unwanted behaviors when they appear.
