Master Lateness and Unpredictability..... Check! Tuesday November, 17 2020- 12:05pm I know, I know, I said I would write every Wednesday and Saturday night. However, in my defence, I did tell you I was unconventional and all that jazz. Plus, I vaguely remember something getting in the way, Oh that’s right, I think it’s called life. Lol. Anyway, here I am. I have also realized that it can take Vocal itself, reviewing your work before it’s published and publishing it, sometimes it can take even over 12 hours to get your work available to the public. So please keep that in mind as we go along. I will start putting the date and time when I start writing at the top of all future stories for that reason.

Stella's Perfect Pairing
Stella was technically my sister’s dog, but I treated her like she was my own. I would bring her out when I brought my dogs out, I would cuddle with her, pet her, and play with her the same way I did with my own. I would give her snacks whenever I gave them to my own dogs. We even had a morning routine where I would spend time with her while I drank my coffee. I loved her like she was mine, and I think that might be why it hurts so much that I didn’t get to say goodbye. She passed away in July, when I was stuck at work. We’d dropped her off at the vet the day before, but we thought she was coming back.

The Tale of Beastie
Our cats, Mr. Gold and Beastie, are always having such interesting arguments outside my bedroom window. Mr. Gold's favorite past time is to hang from my screen and argue with Beastie about why it's important for him to come in. I imagine what their conversation(s) consist of, is who belongs and who doesn't.

Dogmum life
I am an animal lover all day, every day. I work with both humans 25 hours a week and occasionally work at a dog day care, I wish it was the other way round as I am less stressed with the dogs. Anyway after working I return home to my number one best friend. 9 years of friendship and still going strong. He’s been with me through my worst and through my best. Seen my battles, mistakes, regrets and the rest; but you know the best thing about dogs, they love you in spite of all that. This little guy is Alfie and he does all of the above and more. How? you might ask. He’s just a dog? No, he’s not just a dog. He’s my best friend in the whole world, no in fact he is my whole world and my rock on my toughest days. Just seeing him makes my day 100% better and I even hate myself at times for when I am not in the mood to interact with him. If I get home late from work and I’m tired, he’s there wagging his tail expecting a cuddle to which I tell him to go away. I hate myself for it, it happens occasionally and he doesn’t deserve it. I am his whole life and he doesn’t understand. I do what I can to provide him with all the love and food in the world, because you know food is very important. In fact dogs might be loyal but they’re much more loyal to that cheeseburger you have in your hand, let me tell you. Anyway, in the midst of working a lot, I am also in university which is 3 days a week and sometimes clashes with work. This has only become recently to which Alfie doesn’t understand why I don’t have the time to take him on his several walks like he used to. Once again I am ashamed of being a dog mum. He’s been at the peak of his life burning off lots of energy and exploring letting his nose get into all kinds of smells, best time ever for hun right? But I struggle to get him out at least four times a day. My family used to help out, but now my sister has a young child to take care of who needs her attention and my mum on hand to give her that extra bit of help. Once again he is feeling the changes of not having so many walks, but also the huge change of new smells, sounds and items in the house. He doesn’t understand where this tiny human has came from only that he has to cope with it and deal with it. I am guilty that hes feeling all of these changes and I know he will be confused. He’s getting on a bit now and I don’t want him to feel any less appreciated. I need to think before I do. I may be tired when I finish work, but I should realise the love and loyalty he gives me and appreciate him back. I should realise that I can listen to my lecture if it’s recorded at any time and take him out on more walks and not put university or my hob before him. I know they are important but he’s more important and for such a small time on earth he should feel every moment and it should be a happy moment. He makes me laugh, he makes me mad, he makes me smile, he makes me cry. All of these things make me a proud dog mum. He’s annoying at times yes, but I’m sure to him I’m just as annoying - and you know what? He loves me anyway. But... I love him more and I wouldn’t change him for anything else in the world. If you have a dog, take a minute to think about all of the times you’ve got frustrated over small things, materialistic things or just things that are not relevant enough to be pissed off enough to take it out on your dog. At the end of the day you are his/her whole life, he/she is just a part of yours. His life is always changing but his love and loyalty to you will not. Cherish him/her always.

Incubating?
Original Posting: November 14, 2020 So let me say I’m just a tiny bit obsessed with having a farm and raising my own food and fruit and veggies for me and my kids. I am also a penny pincher so I ordered the lowest costing incubator on Walmart’s app. It received three stars so I said “Hey, let’s try it and see how it goes.”

Mouse Stories
When I was just twenty, and I’d been married less than a year, my husband and I, and my sister and brother-in-law, with whom we split the rent, came into town from our country mobile home to go to the liquor store. They could spend a good deal of time debating the best way to spend their limited funds on alcohol, but I found it boring, so I went in to the pet shop next door. In those days, it was the eighties, they still sold puppies and kittens in pet shops, so I had plenty of time to poke my fingers into all the cages and ooh and ahh to myself about the adorableness, and then I took the obligatory spin towards the rodents and then the scaled creatures.

What do you do with left overs and scraps...
So I’m sure as some of you can imagine, every meal prepared in our house is in portions large enough to feed an army! 5 kiddos can eat through a lot of food each month. Not to mention they all favor different tastes. My kids are very opinionated and just like every other person around the world, they each like to voice what they like or don’t like. So when ever I find a new recipe I like I try it and if they like it then it’s a keeper.

Potbellied pigs are loose in the streets!
You've seen all the posts online of celebs with teacup pigs. You've seen how girls go crazy over how adorable they are. After asking around, you discover they are pretty low maintenance and cheap to own, after the 1200-5600 dollar price tag, depending on your area. Excited, you do a search for a local breeder in your area, you connect and you buy yourself your very own "max 25 pound" babe magnet. The breeder informs you the pig only requires 1/4 cup of food a day and isn't anymore messy than a dog or cat and you think, "This is great!"
