Voles Are Life
Sensing the encroaching darkness of night, the Barn Owl shifted slightly, and saw his dreams of tasty voles disappear before his opening eyes. Wide awake now, he was hungry and curious what became of his world in the last few hours. He stretched his wings and taking flight, he began his nightly inventory. After reaching his usual altitude, he glided silently around the entire farm. He noted the placement of the farm equipment, left where they ended the day's reaping. He wondered if they stirred up the nests of voles, making his hunt easier. He saw the Humans left sheets of cloths to flap in the hot night air. And, what's this? A rivulet of water turning into a nice puddle, from where someone carelessly left the hose running. That will make a nice bath later, after his meal.

How Does a Black Widow Spider Find a Mate?
The male black widow spiders follow some signals that are released by the female spiders to get to the web. However, according to research, it is only about 12 percent of the suitors manage to get to the web where the female is and ready to mate and it is not an easy thing to do because once they are there, there are always some rivals awaiting.

How Movie "An American Pickle" Related To Helping Your Challenged Dog?
A while back my husband and I watched this movie from Seth Rogen “An American Pickle,” it’s an interesting movie. One of the scenes that really made me think was when “old Seth” woke up 100 years later, being homeless, he went back to what he did the best:

Losing a pet and running towards comfort
i got a call today from my X. Not a surprise since we talk often and have a child. He was very upset and concerned about our dog, a whippit. He was my dog coming into the family. Anyway, he went on to say the he hadn’t eaten in 2-3 days. Usually this is not reason for alarm since he has protested with many food strikes throughout his life. What made this a bit more scary was the fact that he had been eating less as it was for the past couple weeks, a lot less. The reason my X called to tell me is because our dog lives with him and our other dog. We didn’t think it was fair to separate them when I moved out. So, for the past year they have been in the same house.

A House That Will Last 9 Lives. Top Story - January 2021.
If you have a cat, then you probably have noticed how they sleep where they want, eat what they want, and pretty much do whatever they want whenever they want. As cat owners, we find ourselves adjusting to their preferences probably ninety percent of the time. However, that other ten percent is when we go above and beyond for our furry beasts because we want to.

The Last Winter
The world is quiet ... perhaps more so than it use to be. I remember being young. I remember listening to the sound of snow falling as I gazed out from my perch. Now, the pitter patter of snowfall is all but gone. My senses have grown quite dull in recent years, and the winter is far colder than I remember. These eyes have grown weary, seeing much from the skies, although I have no legacy to leave behind. This suits me fine, as a humble life is one worth living all the same. Having spent it being happy, I cannot complain. This is a feat in its own right, as I've never truly struggled to be content as the humans seem to do. Their worries, their way of life. At times it confuses me, but they gave me my home. They gave me this barn, from which I've lived my days freely. I've spent many nights pursuing the hunt, feeding myself in the only way I know how. Perhaps this was my calling, and perhaps it is a legacy after all. Even with no one to tell my story, the story was still told all the same.

Home is Where the Hearts Are
Yet another exhausting day at work. While the drive home can be relaxing, it doesn't always shake off the slump I find myself in after a long day of emotionally supporting my patients. I make it home and stumble through the front door, feeling as empty as a soda can in a recycling bin. I hang my keys mechanically on its hook on the nearby wall and shuffle to the couch in the den.

What happened when I started feeding my cat CBD
My cat is fat, and somewhat old, she is very sweet and loving, however; she has slowed down a lot over time. I have found her to play less, jump less, enjoy less. She became more irritable, and I worried it maybe due to her joints. I was working at a local CBD store and figured it was time to try CBD for my dear cat.

Harper May My pandemic service dog in training
It all started when I first wanted a service dog. I felt that I needed more help with independence and friendship. I felt like I needed something to help me feel safer in public, especially with friends or alone. Because of anxiety and paranoia, I felt safer sticking close to my parents or friends and only leaving them to go to my favorite section of stores, certain places I’ve been to multiple times on my own, or only walked around the block because it's the only route I have memorized and being afraid of getting lost if I went a different way.

Shiloh
It's 6:00 am and the phone starts playing music very loudly. "You ready to get up?" I ask Shiloh, after turning off the loud alarm. He looks up groggily from his dog bed and yawns a big yawn. I stand up from my bed and kiss my husband, who is going back to sleep. "Come on big boy" I say to Shiloh. He stands up in his bed and stretches. Shiloh and I are going to wake my son for school.
