The Missing Case of Jingle Bells on Diwali Night
Diwali is a time for families to come together, spread love, and eat sweets. A lot of sweets!! And of course, fireworks play a major part in making the festival more fun. It is the usual kind of Diwali I've celebrated every year. But Diwali 2020 was a little bit different. We had the fortune of hearing Jingle Bells too. You're asking, how so? Come with me.

Woman's best friend
I am going to give you a little background on myself so you can see why this dog meant so much to me. I was born and raised in the military, our family moved every 2-3 years. We had a couple of dogs growing up but we only had them for as long as my dad was stationed at the base. We would give the dog to a family member so we would be able to see the dog again. I never really bonded or got attached to any animals growing up.

The Internet's Talking Pets
Anyone who’s ever said the word “treat” or “walk” around their dog knows that our pets can understand us - at least when it comes to certain words! It’s long been clear that dogs and cats have their own ways of communicating with us, from different types of barks and body language to responding to their names and verbal commands.

Animal Traning In The Time of COVID-19: Words of Wisdom By The Welfare and Husbandry Innovative Training
The COVID-19 Pandemic has not been kind to the zoo and aquarium community, for it has seen many facilities be forced to either furlough or layoff their staff members. Meanwhile, some facilities have begun to experience some serious financial problems to the point where they were forced to shut down for good. Those facilities are currently struggling to re home their animals at surviving facilities, who would otherwise be euthanized if such facilities were not found.

Cock A Doodle Doo To You
Cock A Doodle Doo is the term given to the sound a rooster makes. I grew up in the county and many of our neighbors had chickens which included roosters. I don’t particularly recall hearing them crow each morning at sunrise but I was given the impression that this is what they did. I recall the Kellogg’s Cornflake TV commercial where Cornelius Rooster could not get the proper sound out until he ate a bowl of cereal. He did his cock a doodle doo and the sun immediately popped up into the sky.

Magic the Mystery Lamb
I thought he was a dog when I first saw him on the kitchen floor one Friday afternoon in March. He was fuzzy, like a Portuguese Water Dog, and oddly-shaped. He was perfectly, purely black, from head to toe to tail; his eyes were shiny black in his coal-coloured face.

A Furry Love Story
It was a cold April 3rd of 2019 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I had just woken up, and my partner and I of that time had some errands to run. We had to get groceries and have some Panda Express of course (our favorite). Out in the plaza where Walmart is there is a Petsmart. Occasionally we would like to run in there just to browse. In the back of that particular store there is a separate room full of adoptable cats from the local SPCA. There was one that particularly stuck out to me because her description card read that she could say "mama". I felt a warm feeling in my chest. This meeting was kismet. I immediately went to fill out an adoption application. Within a few days I was approved to come pick up Delilah and take her home with me!

God’s Gift
Beaten up, cold, and scared, this six week old kitten was carried into the dealership I worked at. Desperately, this lady asks if there is anyone available to foster. “I found him in the center of a few dogs, they looked like they were going to eat him! I rushed towards the group, pushed them off, and saved this kitten,” sharp breaths between her words heightened the sense of emergency. He was covered in fleas and could barely see. One could easily identify he was cold and hungry. Looking like he had already given up on living, he curled into the corner of my desk by the printer, seeking for warmth. I called my parter and told him the details. Not even thirty minutes pass when he shows up to pick up the kitten and take him home. My shift ended late, so the kitten was already bathed and curled into warm towels by the time I returned home. The next morning, we took him to the vet to make sure he wasn’t infected with any diseases and to find out how old he was. She informed us he was only six weeks old and was healthy, besides the worms and fleas. After a few shots and flea baths, he was as good as new. We brought him to our humble abode and began the introductions to our other cat. My cat, Poseidon, began sniffing the kitten and low growling as he lightly batted his tiny skull. The kitten jumped at every movement Poseidon would make and poofed up every moment he discovered something new. Days progressed as did their relationship, and soon, they were cuddling while Poseidon adopted the role of father. The kitten had evolved to Gambit and he was now part of our small family.
