Dog Owners:
Lockdown certainly fuelled our desires for pets. Being stuck indoors is made significantly better with a furry friend to lower our stress levels and give us something to care for day-to-day. The surge in people welcoming dogs into their families has however been met with criticism, with many being given to animal shelters when owners realise that they can’t care for them. While it is positive that more families are seeking pets and keeping them, there are those that are rejected and end up in an animal shelter, where it might be harder for them to be rehomed due to a higher demand for puppies.

You'll Never Look at Sea Otters the Same
Everyone has tripped into the rabbit hole of Youtube. Personally, I am prone to jumping face first into the downward spiral of the “Tube.” Most of time I resurface with a new obsession. Sometimes content as inspiring as Galen Hooks freestyle dance roulette, Steezy choreographers challenge, {The And}, The Cut, Jubilee, Ink Master clips, etc. There are the thoroughly amusing videos that keep you up until 3 in the morning such as The Office clips, Graham Norton interviews, compilation videos of fights from varying reality shows, Jerry Springer segments, Chapelle Show skits, and funniest moments from Insecure, On My Block, Oz, etc. Then there are the times you want to cry in the fetal position, while your eyes ache staring at your phone screen watching soldiers returning home surprising their loved ones, old Oprah Winfrey show tear-jerker interviews, and emotional classic scenes from General Hospital, Grey’s Anatomy, Girlfriends, etc. You might discover guilty pleasures you thought would disgust you like ear wax extraction videos and crows removing ticks from wallabies. And there is always the night of new movie trailers, that will entertain you until the sun starts peeking into your room.

Australian Cattle Dog - The Canine Velociraptor
Have you have heard the phrase "like a chicken with it's head cut off" or "drove me up a wall?" Well, let me introduce you to the Australian Cattle -or otherwise known as Blue/Red Heeler. As a proud owner of one stunning canine, I've come to believe they embody the two sayings perfectly. And by them, I mean me. My goal in this article is to provide some insight to those desiring cattle dog owners. First off-

She was mine
Rantings and ravings at 1:05 to put off sleep as long as possible. I see her on some weekends. I have a picture on my fridge. I'm told I can see her whenever I want, and that I'll always be a part of her. I lie in bed at night wondering what will happen to her, if she's okay. Worse, that it keeps me up at night, I oversleep and I overcompensate for my missed work hours by staying up on purpose. The later I'm awake, the worse regrets come and things you must consider but that you can't deal with at 1:30 in the morning plague you between blinks. That keeps you up longer, and your outlook slides deep.

Ferrets in the Time of Corona
I am an animal-lover. I am vegetarian. I volunteered at a cat shelter for a long time. I feed the squirrels in my backyard forest with my mom. I help my mom name the squirrels. We have never gone without cats at home. I have been volunteering with an organization which benefits the rainforests of Costa Rica, as well, as their recording secretary for the board of directors.

Bullet
I woke up at five-thirty like always and checked the temperature. Thirty-five degrees. I looked out the window at the pines glowing from the streetlights in front of the house. Not just thirty-five degrees, but raining and windy. I told myself I wasn’t going out for a run even as I was putting on my foul-weather gear.
