Paw Prints on Our Hearts
I literally can't even remember a time in my life when I didn't have a pet. My parents had a dog, a cat, and a couple horses when I was born. And I still remember the day my mom picked me up from preschool and took me to the animal shelter to meet the dog we were adopting - my dog. I named him Reggie, and I had him from the time I was in preschool until my freshman year of college. He isn't with me any more, but he will always be my dog. There are just some pets that come into your life and your heart is forever imprinted with their adorable little paw prints.

My Baby Boy
There is a large sleeping dog in my lap. His name is Jack. He is always in my lap. I spend hours and hours running my hands over his massive shoulders and thick heavy head. I poke my fingers between his thick toes and around his soft pink muzzle, marveling at this beautiful creature who loves me above all things on earth. Sometimes, i think back to the day he was born.

Conquering Perfectionism with Paint
There are few things in life that bring as much universal joy to people of all walks of life as animals. Pets are strange creatures; they live in the house with us and can’t talk to us, but we love them unconditionally. My own life is full of animals, from chickens to horses to a pack of dogs. We celebrate their birthdays, enjoy their shenanigans, and mourn their passing. Animals are a staple of our lives. I haven’t yet met a dog I didn’t fall in love with instantly.

Wool Felting
My project that I’m looking forward to doing with my Fiskar scissors is wool felting, I will use the wool from our sheep. I have a sweet Icelandic sheep named Rosa, although we mainly call her sheepy. I'm going to use the wool that we sheer from her. Rosa is incredibly sweet and calls out to us when she sees us, she also loves to sniff our faces and follow us around and when we pet her she wags her little tail (Icelandic sheep are born with little tails). She is also so fun to take selfies with.

Our Messed Up Pets
Edgar was our family's second cat. The first cat, Dopey, was still around and trying to get used to sharing the house with a toddler and another cat. Edgar was easy going enough that those things never really mattered, as he regarded the hissing fits with calm ignorance. He was a lover, not a fighter. Everyone was his person. As aggressively antisocial as Dopey was, that is how dedicated Edgar was to spreading warm feelings to all of God's creatures. In time, that would become a problem.

My Dog Just Died...
my dog just died. I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I guess I'm not as prepared for finality of the ‘end' as I thought I'd be. Just a foreigner in the land of emotion. It’s been so long since anyone I've truly cared about has passed away and I seem to have become desensitized to the whole experience. The news, in movies or the world in general has left me flippant. People die every day, but I didn't know any of them personally so how can I be expected to mourn. I feel like a robot most of the time, but we all get reminders that we are human, and man do they hurt.
