Happy Go Lucky
You know, when I saw this channel on Vocal, I was excited. I knew who my empawyee of the month was straight away, because I sent a picture I took of her to a popular magazine in the UK. I got £25 quid for it, and a big buzz from the publication. I don’t think she was bothered that much because she dosen’t read magazines much. I think she would shred it to bits if there was one near by.

Lola
In May of 2017, I was visiting with my daughter and we had just pulled up at the pet supermarket in town. As we got out of the car, we saw the animal control truck pull up and we both got excited, knowing we were going to be able to play with some puppies. We walked up and tried to get a sneak peek at the puppies that were being placed for adoption today when one of the workers opened a cage, revealing a scared brindle and white puppy. She looked to be around two to three months old and had the perfect puppy dog eyes as she locked eyes with me. The worker, I’m assuming sensed the connection between me and this puppy, picked up the puppy and put her in my arms.

Hammie was always "my" dog.
In my “past life” I was an Animal Health Technologist and Dog Behaviouralist. Which is a fancy way of saying, I was an animal nurse and got to play with puppies all day. For the most part, I loved my job, but there was always something nagging at me under the surface. Something that never quite fit properly. I would bounce from job to job, trying to figure it out but eventually, the pattern of burnout would repeat itself and I would quit finding something else.

The Trials of Mango
As I frantically grabbed Mango’s harness to jerk her up and above the snarling, leaping jaws of her first beach dog opponent, I recall being stunned both by the screaming of onlookers and the viciousness of the fight itself. Who is this dog? What happened to our sweet girl?

Zoos are sometimes seen as necessary but not poor alternatives to a natural environment
Auckland Zoo, for example, has several breeding programs that allow animals to mate and reproduce. On the other hand, many believe that the conservation of wildlife in zoos is a way to preserve many endangered species. However, there is a debate between people who do not want zoos and their loved ones, and most of them are against zoos because the animals are not healthy enough to be in them and the zoos themselves are not healthy.

A Dog To Make Me Live. Top Story - September 2021.
As I was walking the fine line between life and death, the doctor told my parents that they should get me a dog. A dog, someone to take care of. Someone to consider besides my own problems. Someone to be here for. A reason to choose life.

Dear Tucker
Dear Tucker, It's been two weeks since you crossed the rainbow bridge. I still can't believe you're gone. The urn with your ashes sits next to me on the desk, allowing me to pretend you're still hanging out with me while I work. It brings me some comfort, but it's not the same. When you died, you left a golden retriever-shaped hole in my heart.
