Catucation
How Cats Bend You To Their Will

Introduction
I haven't written about any cats for a while although I see cats on my daily walks and if you want to check out my previous pieces they are here:
I am not sure what I mean by the word that I made up for the title of this piece. Is it Cats educating themselves in order to get humans to do their bidding, or the induction of humans to do the bidding of the feline overlords?
We seem to have acquired a cat. He doesn't live with us, but this is what has happened.

Catucation
I walk every day and usually on my walks, I come into contact with many cats and sometimes their owners. I share images on social media and people generally love them.
Cats sometimes sit and have their portrait taken, and at other times come to me to play, be stroked and demand treats often wanting to find out what is in my bag if I have one.
Most of the time, they run away because I am a human (believe it or not), but I still manage to get photographs.
Cats tend to get their way and almost know how they can manipulate humans to do their bidding.
On my walks, one cat (Tom, originally known as Dirk by me) used to get tuna and chicken in gravy and enjoyed it, but unfortunately, he seems to have disappeared from his usual haunt.
A while ago we started getting a black and white visitor to the garden, to sun themselves and sleep. Every time I ventured out they ran away.
I had seen them enjoying my next door neighbour's garden furniture, sleeping underneath it on occasion.

Then he decided he liked our garden table

Then from there he progressed into the shrubs

Eventually deciding that the decking outside the back door was a good place to enjoy the sun.

He still looks very grumpy as though we are trespassing on his place rather than him taking advantage of ours. Though he has come closer and closer to our door as though he was expecting something.
Maybe he had seen that we feed the birds on a regular basis, so if birds get treats, then cats certainly should, should they not? The cat has obviously been evaluating the situation before coming up with a plan of action.

It was probably at this point I gave in, and tried to hold out a hand full of dreamies.
When I held out my hand he ran away to hide in the shrubbery next to the bird feeders. I went down the steps and threw some of the Dreamies onto the flagstones and he slowly came out and started to crunch them.

I must say it was a little odd to hear a cat crunching its food, but you come across new things every day. Cat owners will know this very well. I am not a cat owner but I think that this cat thinks it owns me.

When you see him like this there is no doubt what he is after.

Two days ago he decided to perch himself on the decking rail so that I would see him immediately when I came into the kitchen. I thought there may be a chance that he would trust me to stroke him, but there was no way.
When I opened the door it was sown the steps and into the shrubbery to await treats. And that is where we are at at the moment.

Whether he will ever trust me enough to stroke him, I don't know, but he knows which way his bread is buttered and that he will get treats when he comes calling. So he will be fed, just like the birds are.

haha great post for international cat day today!
Hahahahahahahha you're definitely trespassing his property and there's no doubt that he owns you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am not a cat person either and I feed the birds too. It is a good idea to feed he cats so maybe they will not eat the birds. Good work and word.
