On Sunday, the girls and I met a friend of ours at my ex's house to haul away the girls' Ford Escapes, which we can no longer afford to fix. My ex had threatened to give them away to someone, instead of waiting for us to move them when we could, even though they were his daughters' rigs. Instead of letting someone have them for nothing, I decided to allow a friend to haul them to a junkyard for half the money.
We had to meet my friend over there with the keys to make it easier to load the rigs up on the trailer. So we headed over to my ex's house, sat in the car, and watched as my friend and a friend of hers winched the first one onto the trailer bed. Sadly, my ex decided he had to stand outside with us.
Things seemed to be going okay, no accusations or arguments for the first ten minutes or so. Then suddenly, his whole demeanor changed, and my ex looked at me and said, "Do you want Blondie? The c**t won't mind me, and I'm going to shoot the b*tch."
Let me just say right here that no, I was NOT surprised at his words, but I was very shocked that he said them in front of witnesses. Not only did both my daughters hear him, but Bonnie's boyfriend, my friend, and my friend's friend did also. Plus, I was a little upset with him, because I had begged him for Blondie when we decided to end things, because the little princess had bonded with me, but he refused my request, and fought me about taking "his dog." (Let me be real clear here: he never cleaned her messes, never fed or watered her, and definitely did not take her outside. He only lay in bed all the time, while we trained Baby Gurl. Complaining about everything the entire time.)
I, of course, told him that I'd take her, happily, even though I'd have four dogs then, making things tighter. I neglected to tell him that Bonnie now has a puppy she named Mara, making the total five. (I must be crazy!) We don't want him to ever see Bonnie's dog.
He goes marching inside his house and comes back outside, dragging Blondie by the throat with a clothesline rope. It really upset me, since she had a collar we left and a leash, also. He dragged her up to my car, and when she saw me, she jerked free and jumped inside the car. Baby Gurl hates car rides, doesn't willingly get into the car, so this in itself broke my heart.

Blondie hid behind me, refusing to budge an inch. When my friend loaded the first Escape up, the girls climbed back into the car, and we followed the truck and trailer out. My precious girl curled up in the back seat of the car once we got moving, never once whining. I know she was a little stressed with the ride, but she rode like a champ. I was so proud of her.
When we arrived at our house, Blondie was scared to get out of the car. Bonnie and her boyfriend had to coax and carry her inside. Once she was at the front door, and it was opened for her to see Duke, Daisy, and Frodo, the whole story changed, though. My Baby's whole demeanor changed from beaten dog to ecstatic pup. Her doggy brothers and sister were right there, making things right in her world.
She's completely back to normal with the love and care my girls and I have given her. My ex's mean streak didn't ruin her at all. She's not scared of guys, loving the heck out of Bonnie's boyfriend, lying on him any chance she could get. She's loving on the cats, cuddling with her canine siblings, and most special of all, Baby Gurl is gently playing with Mara (Bonnie's pup).

So, gladly, my little family is now fully complete. All the animals are responding so well to their new environment and all the love they are getting. Everyone is so much happier here in the new house and adjusting so well.
Blondie is missing Bonnie's boyfriend a lot. She really took up with him. He's such a sweet young man, but he had to go home yesterday afternoon. She's waiting for him to come back to visit, so she has her snacking partner back.

Wow. It's an honor when an animal loves you.
Blondie is so gorgeous! I'm so happy that she is back with momma! ☺️
Beautiful Blondie! I'm so glad you and your family are doing well. ☺️
Sheesh! I was really happy when the dogs were reunited. Gorgeous.☺️
Well-wrought! Glad the doggie found a better home!
Aww Sharon, Blondie is so beautiful. Five dogs, wow , but you have help from your daughters. I have two poodles and that keeps us busy. Comfort made it, he is ten pounds of resilience. I am enjoying every day with him.. Enjoy Blondie,.. she is beautiful.
That is one good looking pup. Some people should never be allowed to own a pet. I think it was fortunate that you arrived when you did, even though you didn’t need to be there. The abandoned vehicles gave her back to you
What a powerful story. My heart broke at the way your ex treated Blondie, but I’m so glad it ended with her safe, loved, and exactly where she belongs.

Awww Blondie, please give her hugs from me 🥺❤️ The way he dragged her broke my heart. I hope your ex didn't abuse her too much when she was with him. Poor girl. I'm so happy you guys are together now!
Fuuuuuuck that POS. Glad you got away from that bastard, and I’m so happy for Blondie ❤️
I want to reach through cyberspace and wrap you, your girls, and your fur babies in a huge hug. I hope things get easier for all of you. Also, the mother in me feels the need to urge you to be careful writing too much about your ex on a public platform. I've seen petty exes of friends twist things out of context and with the wrong judge or lawyer it can get scary fast. You're smart to keep him nameless, but just be careful. You've already been through too much.
I wanna do violent things to your ex. I am so glad you and the daughters and animals are away from him! He doesn't sound very nice at all - that's an understatement. Glad you have more peace ahead. The dog is a beauty!
My God, your ex is a monster! I’m glad that you, your daughters, and now all of your fur babies have gotten away from him. 💜
