Your Work in Silence Is Very Rewarding
A quiet mind is able to hear intuition over fear -Unknown.

To me, starting something new meant sharing my goals and plans with everyone around me. Their biased opinions and second-hand stories were enough to drain my energy.
I started working on it only with the left-over enthusiasm and felt burnt out soon.
I was running in circles until I focussed all my energy and time telling others about my plan to do the actual work. The result was splendid!
Bonus: I learned a beautiful lesson about how we can do anything, we set our minds on.
Push yourself because no one else is going to do it for you -Unknown.
Better late than never
Since my childhood, I had always been a jack of all trades but mastered none. And I never once gave a serious thought about the possibility of going deep with some of my skills.
After all, the moment of revelation arrived when I became a mom. I realized the exponential power of time.
I had to drop the baby weight. We had moved to a new home. My personal trainer at the gym had quit his job. Replacement of my beloved Manager at work. All besides caring for a one-year-old and evergrowing household chores.
In such an overwhelming time, something became very obvious.
While I can never go back to my younger self, I can always shape my future self.
The clock was ticking!
I mustered the courage to do something
My heart had a burning desire to do something. To surprise me with something long forgotten. To feel a sense of accomplishment.
Being a new mom made my tiny bedroom with the baby and laptop, my small world. I felt confined to the limits. I wanted to break free and do something crazy good to feel myself again.
Imagine a new mom telling everyone about this sudden urge to achieve something.
I was not prepared for any casual comment, advice, or laughter.
So, I started running one day after I dropped my little girl in her daycare. My struggle to finish one mile around the park was real. I moved it up to 3 miles a day.
I continued to run every day. I started waking up to my runs early morning. And fell in love with me all over again.
The rhythm in my footsteps was my new addiction and I felt like the whole world was cheering for me.
The standing tall trees on either side of the pathway greeted me with open arms every day.
I progressed to running five miles. And very soon realized, running was the therapy, I needed. It helped me connect with my inner self. And I have never felt so complete!
Very soon, I ended up finishing a half-marathon by self-training in four months. I felt super good in years!
For the first time in my life, I worked in silence. I did something for myself. And the outcome was tremendous. I exceeded my own expectations.
All I did during my runs was to listen to myself. And set my soul on fire.
Here is what I learned by doing the work in Silence
- Silence fills us with enormous energy from within.
- It is so liberating to do something without making announcements.
- There is no pressure to perform. Replace it with the joy of working for yourself.
- It kills the need to compare ourselves with others. Remember, there is no one to remind us about it.
- Unparalleled Joy is the outcome of doing something with no external interventions.
Spoiler alert
When I did share my accomplishment with friends, all they asked me about was the running stats. And compared my numbers with their remote friends'. And some were unhappy about the closed deal.
It was so reassuring to continue my work in the most preferred mode: Silence.
I am pretty sure I may have settled for a 10k run instead of a 21k if I had not been silent.
Listen to Silence. It has so much to say -Rumi.
