Stop Thinking Start Doing

*“Your Excuses Have Gym Membership — That’s Why They’re Getting Stronger”

Look. I didn’t come here to fight anybody… but if this article slaps you spiritually, emotionally, and motivationally — just say “Amen” and drink water. 💧

Because I’ve been watching something lately: People’s excuses are not just big — they’re now going to the gym. Yes oh! Your excuses are doing squats, lifting weights, and drinking protein shakes. They’re FIT. Ripped. Shredded. Unstoppable. Meanwhile, your goals? Flat like my wallet after December.

You Said You’ll Start Tomorrow. Which One?

“Tomorrow I’ll start.” That’s what you said last week Tuesday. And the week before that. And maybe… 2020

How many “tomorrows” do you have in your pocket? Because I swear, if you were collecting them like airtime, you'd be MTN by now.

Let me tell you the truth: Tomorrow is innocent. You’re the one lying on its head.

Your Excuses Are Too Intelligent!

Some of you don’t even make regular excuses anymore. No, yours are well-packaged, high-level, Harvard excuses. See examples:

“I can’t start my business yet, Mercury is in retrograde.”

“I work better under pressure, so I wait till last minute.”

“I’m just waiting for divine timing.”

Divine what? 😭 The only thing divine right now is how well you’ve postponed your own destiny.

If Excuses Burned Calories, You’d Have Abs By Now

Let’s be honest — you’ve got dreams. You’ve got plans. You’ve got vision boards, journals, 7 apps for productivity, and 12 downloaded eBooks you’ve never opened.

But the moment it’s time to do the work, BOOM — Your gym-fit excuse shows up like:

“Hey babe, how about we sleep small and wake up by 5pm?” “It’s raining. How will your destiny work in this weather?” “You deserve rest. You’ve been scrolling Instagram all morning.”

👏 Clap 👏 for 👏 yourself.

Success is Not for the Lazy, and Definitely Not for the Excuse Expert

Here’s a harsh truth: Nobody cares about your excuses — only your results. Life won’t say, “Oh wow, what a beautiful excuse. Don’t worry, take success for free.” Nahhh.

You think your future children will say:

“Daddy, we’re proud of you. You didn’t build wealth, but your excuses? Legendary.”

No oh. They’ll just inherit your stress and wonder what exactly you were doing with your time.

Why You Must Sack Your Excuses Today

Excuses sound smart now, but later, they’ll look like “I wasted my life in soft delay.”

Let me tell you why you must end the relationship:

Excuses are comfortable lies you tell yourself to avoid growth.

They don’t pay rent, but they occupy your headspace.

They’re blockers wearing perfume — sweet but dangerous.

You must sack your excuses like a bad employee:

“Dear excuse, you are hereby terminated. Your performance is poor. I’m going with discipline now.”

Simple Formula

Let me give you my small secret: When your brain starts forming excuses, don’t argue — just MOVE.

Don’t feel like writing? Open the laptop.

Too tired to study? Read one paragraph anyway.

Don’t want to exercise? Put on the shoes and walk small.

The key is action before motivation. Once you start, your brain will say, “Oh, we’re actually serious?” And your future will start clapping for you in advance.

Final Words from Your Street Therapist (aka Me)

Let’s end this madness today.

Stop pampering your excuses like baby.

Stop giving them spa treatment and 3-course meals.

Stop dressing them up and calling them “self-care.” 💀

You don’t need more planners. You need more action.

The only way to win is to do the work, even when your excuse is in the corner doing push-ups and shouting:

“Boss! Let’s rest small na!”

Just look at it… Smile… And say: “You’re fired.”

Because remember:

Excuses will never build your dream — only effort will. So go and chase that goal like your village people are chasing you. Because honestly? They might be.
