In our life's journey, it's very normal to sometimes feel happy and sad. It is a part of life.

But sometimes, many people get stuck in the bubble of unhappiness and cannot get out of it, which further leads to bad relationships, mental illness, addictions, and even depression.

You may know that every action is the result of our small long-term habits.

In this post, I'll tell you 12 habits of unhappy people, which if you change, you can live your life more happily.

So let us get started.

1. Unhappy people focus on the bad side

Every person has to go through ups and downs in life. But our reaction depends on whether we choose to focus on the positive side or negative side.

Mostly unhappy people focus on the negative side and get stuck.

With such people, if something good happens on a particular day, they will be happy and enjoy it, but the next day they'll go back into the same negative thought cycle. You should not focus on the unhappiness cycle, but instead, find the solution, and whatever may be the situation, always try to focus on the positive side.

Because happiness is not destiny, it's a choice.

2. They gossip and complain

The kind of person you're from inside can easily be determined by the way you behave, talk and think about others in front of them and what you say when they are gone.

Basically, unhappy people talk about mocking others, gossiping about them, and talk about rumors, or they always keep complaining about their life.

Most people think they are good and kind-hearted, but unconsciously they keep complaining daily. It means instead of focusing on positive things, they focus on talking about negative things.

3. They compare themselves to others

As an individual, everyone should think about their happiness and success. Your ideas of happiness and success can be different from others.

Even then, unhappy people compare their life and themselves with others. They always feel that others' life is better than them and others are more happy than them. Instead of thinking they are different, they are born in different circumstances, and they should be thankful for their own life.

Comparing themselves with others makes them feel less confident and unhappy.

4. They try to find happiness in materialistic things

Unhappy people try to fill their life with superficial and materialistic experiences. They think by doing these they will feel good and others will think they're more happy and successful.

But trying to show off by buying things that you don't need may give you an adrenaline rush or short-term happiness, but you'll not get deep happiness for the long term.

5. They distrust others

We meet so many people in our daily life, but how we react in their presence is determined by whether our mindset is happy or unhappy.

A positive and happy person will try to be friendly and open-minded, whereas an unhappy person will see stranger as a danger.

He will try to maintain his distance until he is completely sure about that person. Sometimes, even if he knows someone very well, he will still not trust another person, which often makes him lonely and unhappy.

6. They are negative about the future

Most people normally see opportunities and try to improve in the future, but an unhappy person just sees obstacles and problems coming their way. Instead of thinking optimistically, they see it negatively.

7. They are selfish

Unhappy people don't want to be unhappy, the problem is that they don't know how to have a positive outlook.

They often mistake self-care for self-protection. That is why they replace purposeful and healthy behaviors with selfish behavior.

They feel thinking about themselves and caring about only themselves will give them happiness and success.

They don't see that behind one's success, there are a lot of people involved. Collaborating with others or sacrificing little something for others can give you good results in the long term, and doing so builds good relations, loyalty, network, and success.

8. They are not grateful

It's easy to complain about all the bad situations in life. For unhappy people, it is a straight path to making their life miserable.

The people who do not feel satisfied in life are the ones who are always ungrateful for the things that they have.

Even if someone does good for them since they have a habit of being ungrateful, they are not even thankful to them and don't remember it, but they always remember the bad things in their life.

9. They Exaggerate things

Life is full of many positive and negative events. An unhappy person not only focuses on the bad, but they exaggerate their situation to others. That is why even a small obstacle becomes a very big problem for them, which can take up their entire day to solve.

10. They hide serious issues

Many people hide their problem even if it's serious because they feel shameful sharing it with others.

Instead of facing the situation directly, they try to avoid or run from it, and to manage such behavior, they have to lie a lot. They are also anxious about their truth being revealed.

11. They make everything about them

Most people have a very big ego, and they like praising it a lot.

For unhappy people, sometimes their ego becomes so big that it even starts affecting their own life. In every conversation, they talk about themselves, keep themselves above everyone, and focus highly on themselves instead of listening to others in the group.

12. They believe life is hard

To unhappy people, life feels like a never-ending war. They feel it is very hard to live in this world. It's a never-ending struggle.

They don't see the beautiful side of ups and downs in life. These ups and downs teach us many valuable lessons in life and make our life interesting.

Unhappy people just see the downward spiral, and they feel it is only meant to destroy them. They do not try to come out of any situation and keep sinking deeper.
