Where Has My World Gone?
Sometimes The Little Things Mean Alot

As we get older it seems we get to reflect more on our past, and what we have missed and enjoyed. Sitting on my porch under the stars many interesting thoughts have come to me. Some I really enjoyed and some made me pause for a moment thinking where has my world gone.
Growing Up Now Is Much Tougher In Today's World
It seems kids no longer can be kids anymore. There was a time where kids could run through fields of corn without a care in the world. Playing was so much fun and the worse thing you had to worry about was being late for supper. In today's world it is much different for kids. There are so many perils waiting to hurt our kids it's a shame. Years ago kids could be kids and that's the way it should be today, but I think that world is gone forever.
I Thought Marriage Was Death Til You Part
When you said I do years ago it meant something. Divorce was a naughty word that was never brought up. In today's society, it seems to be the norm anymore. I think it stems from how easy it is to get divorced these days. Marriage years ago was not easy, but when problems occurred you work on them. Divorce was the last option and I mean the very last one. Getting divorced was like a black eye on a family and no one wanted to be associated with that either.
How We Entertain Ourselves Have Also Changed Alot
Can you remember the malt shop? A place where we would all gather to enjoy a milkshake or just talk. Communities united as one and supported each other. Nowadays it seems we all have our own agenda and that is a shame. No longer do we help our neighbors like years ago. It seems we have lost the compassion to care about people. Will we ever get back to the caring society we once had? I seriously doubt it and that disheartens me to no end.
What Is Left In My World?
The reality is my world seems to be just a distant memory. Kids growing up today do not realize how lucky I had it growing up. From little league games where the whole town watch, and plays at school to a packed house. As I look back at the world I came from sometimes I must wipe a tear from my face. I know deep in my heart my grandchildren have been robbed of something special. They will never get to experience what a carefree life was all about and fun was the word of the day.
Now we deal with Covid-19 and probably many other diseases down the road that we do not know about yet. The future of our kids seem to be bleak, but just like everything else we will tread on. This is what we do as a society.
No matter who bad it gets we know we must stand and help each other out. If we do not nothing will be left in this world for our kids and grandchildren to enjoy.
